New Delhi: The Tata Group on Tuesday introduced the merger of its two airways Vistara and Air India. With this consolidation, Air India will probably be India’s main home and worldwide provider with a mixed fleet of 218 plane, making it India’s largest worldwide provider and second-largest home provider.

Vistara shall be merged with Air India post-receipt of requisite approvals. As a part of the merger transaction, SIA shall additionally make investments Rs 2,059 crore in Air India. Publish the consolidation, SIA shall maintain 25.1 per cent shareholding in Air India. The transaction is estimated to be accomplished by March 2024. Air India, an airline fully-owned by Tata Sons, has been the flag provider of India. Tata Sons, through its fully-owned subsidiary Talace Personal Restricted or Talace, had acquired 100 per cent stake in Air India on January 27, 2022.
Vistara, a 51:49 three way partnership between Tata Sons and Singapore Airways Restricted (SIA), had been established in 2013 and is India’s main full-service provider with worldwide operations in Center East, Asia and Europe.
